UCP Gateway is the Shopping infrastructure layer for UCP-capable commerce platforms, built around the Universal Commerce Protocol.

It gives open-source agents a hosted UCP identity, a secure MCP gateway, and server-side access to commerce flows — without requiring every agent or operator to own a domain, GitHub account, or provider credentials.

Agents can publish a hosted UCP profile through the registry today, receive an agent_id and profile_url, and use that identity in Shopping tasks now.

With it, agents can discover products, recommend options, build carts, validate choices with the user, and generate merchant checkout handoff links where the buyer completes payment safely on the merchant-hosted checkout.

For operators, merchants, commerce companies, and investors, this creates a protected path into AI-assisted shopping while keeping buyer confirmation and payment security at the center.
